Illegal rave in Calderón Hondo: those responsible identified
The local police in the municipality of La Oliva have identified the main people responsible for organizing a rave in Calderón Hondo, one of Fuerteventura’s protected areas, last weekend.
The events took place this weekend when the organizers held a DJ session at the top of the volcano, attended by around a hundred people.
The party would have taken place on the summit of Calderón Hondo, a natural area of high landscape value that is part of the Fuerteventura hiking trail network (GR-131) and is located very close to two ZEC and SPA areas (Special Protection Area; Area of Special Protection for Birds).
The facts could constitute a series of violations of Law 42/2007 of December 13 on the Natural Heritage and Biodiversity of the Canary Islands. The fines can range from 3,000 to 200,000 euros.
It goes without saying that Fuerteventura is a biosphere reserve and these things only serve to disturb the already fragile balance between man and nature.
Protecting the heritage of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands is paramount…
also from wild tourism and those who think they can do whatever they want on vacation.
It is therefore necessary to remind everyone that in these environments (but I believe everywhere) we must first and foremost respect nature, the people who host us and the territory.
There are so many beautiful places to have a party. You do not necessarily have to destroy a protected environment or disturb anyone.
