2 Words about La Ampuyenta
La Ampuyenta is a small agricultural village located on the FV-20, a road that connects Puerto del Rosario with Antigua.
It has only a few hundred inhabitants and some cultural attractions not to be missed, such as the Ermita de San Pedro de Alcantara, the museum of Dr. Mena’s house and the house of Fray Andresito.
The Hospitalito de La Ampuyenta is also very beautiful, a legacy that Dr. Mena left behind in his home village.
Unfortunately, the Hospital of San Conrado and San Gaspar, a complex of three buildings whose construction began in 1901, never fulfilled the function for which it was built due to various problems.
It was restored in 2014 and has housed temporary exhibitions ever since.
Both the Hermitage of San Pedro de Alcantara and the Casa de Fray Andresito are part of the cultural heritage of Fuerteventura that we have listed in this article.
The Wine and Cheese Festival can be a good opportunity to visit a small village full of history that you may not yet know.
