Canary day 2024: all events on Fuerteventura
The Canary Day, also known as “Día de Canarias,” is an annual celebration in the Canary Islands to commemorate the anniversary of the first session of the autonomous Canary Islands Parliament in 1983.
As the Canary Day approaches, each town on Fuerteventura eagerly gears up to host a variety of events.

Puerto del Rosario
Puerto del Rosario starts on May 29 at 8pm on Avenida Maritima with the Gran Baile de Taifas.
The Gran Baile de Taifas of Fuerteventura is a typical event of the Canary Day.
The Gran Baile de Taifas revives the traditions, customs and folk dances of the Canary Islands.

From May 27 to 30, the town of La Oliva celebrates “Canary Week” and Canary Day with several special events in Corralejo.

Antigua
The municipality of Antigua will celebrate Canary Islands Day in 2024 with a series of festive activities. Antigua will host the Gran Baile de Taifas in the Plaza de Antigua on May 30, 2024 from 12pm to 6pm.

The Canary Day celebrations continues at La Alcología Ecomuseum with Un Pueblo tranquilo
This theatrical and cultural revival project offers the public an intense experience in popular culture and in the memory of the ethnographic tradition of the last century.
You can take part in workshops on traditional games and toys.
During a theatrical tour of the different buildings of the Ecomuseum, a traditional micro-theatre will be performed, created by the different cultural associations of the island. Don’t miss the various workshops and exhibitions that end with the traditional Baile de Taifas.
