List of festivities of the patron saints of the Fuerteventura municipalities

La Oliva

  • July 16: The Virgen del Carmen, patroness of sailors, celebrates her big day in Corralejo. The sailors carry the Virgin through the Casco Viejo, gathering a multitude of people at the small pier, where the fishermen’s homage to their patron saint begins, received by boats and “falúas” decorated like the rest of the city.

  • July 18: Today the Nocturnal Procession takes place which ends at Muelle Chico with a picturesque scene, caused by torches and fireworks.

  • August: The Virgen del Buen Viaje, in El Cotillo, is the other appointment marked in the calendar for its splendor and devotion to the seafaring families of this small enclave of the municipality.
