The Festival de Cine de Lanzarote ( Lanzarote International Film Festival) takes place at the Almacen Cultural Center and offers an extensive program of short films from all over the world.

1° Festival de música antigua de Lanzarote
(First ancient music festival in Lanzarote)
The second concert of the first thematic festival dedicated to early music in Lanzarote will feature Juan Carlos de Mulder and Carlos Oramas performing Ars Polyphonica. They will take the audience on a journey through Renaissance music for lute, showcasing works by Spanish and Italian composers such as Luys de Narváez, Diego Ortiz, Francesco de Milano, and Vincenzo Capirola. Juan Carlos de Mulder is known for his extensive concert career in Europe, America, Asia, and the Maghreb, and has taught courses at different conservatories. Similarly, Carlos Oramas has dedicated his career to the study of plucked string instruments of the Renaissance and Baroque and is currently a professor at the Professional Conservatory of the Canary Islands. The event will take place on March 9, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. in the Convento de Santo Domingo de Teguise.

Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen

The Canary Islands International Music Festival is featuring the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, a highly esteemed chamber orchestra in the classical music world. Established in 1980 by music students, the ensemble became a professional chamber orchestra in Frankfurt in 1987. Tarmo Peltokoski, the current principal guest conductor, will lead the performance alongside soprano Chen Reiss, who will be the soloist in Schumann’s “Frauenliebe und Leben” and in Mahler’s Fourth, arranged by Yoel Gamzou.

Ensemble de Cuerdas Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria en Lanzarote
The International Music Festival of the Canary Islands, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
The OrQuestra Filarmonica de Gran Canaria will present a symphonic and a chamber music repertoire.
It is precisely with this second repertoire that it will perform on Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria as part of the “Festival Internacional de Musica de Canarias”.
They will play works by Shostakovich, Grieg and a world premiere by Samuel Aguilar.
Afterwards, Javier Laso (piano) and David Lacruz (trumpet) will perform Shostakovich’s Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and Strings, a work of particular instrumental complexity that has been performed and recorded by numerous renowned soloists over the years and continues to be a reference work in the classical repertoire.
The concert ends with the Holberg Suite, the work with which Grieg honoured the Norwegian-Danish writer Ludvig Holberg on the occasion of his bicentenary.
